Abstract

This paper presents some considerations in the low-discard stamping of thin-walled cylindrical products. Instead of using traditional round blanks, optimal blanks — in the shape of squares with their corners removed — were employed in the drawing process, securing an increase in material utilization of some 20%. Techniques of die construction and examples of production technology for cylindrical products are presented.
