Abstract

The diffusion of gaseous radioiodine vapour to surfaces is controlled by boundary layer effects, and diffusion to the walls of a tube is in good agreement with theory. In the presence of condensation nuclei the behaviour of the radioiodine depends on the amount of iodine carrier present. With no carrier the radioiodine appears to undergo adsorption on the nuclei.
