Abstract

[IrH 5(PEt 3) 2] reacts with [(PR 3) 2Rh(μ 2-Cl) 2(PR 3) 2] (PR 3 = PEt 3 or 2 PR 3 = Ph 2PCH 2CH 2PPh 2) to give the hydrido-bridged binuclear species [(PR 3) 2Rh(μ 2-H)(μ 2-Cl)IrH 2(PR 3) 2] which show catalytic activity in alkene hydrogenation.
