Abstract

Two morphological mutants of Musca domestica L. Mk (masked eyes) and pw (pointed wing) were located on linkage groups II and III, respectively, and were assigned map positions of 77.3 and 71.6. A 3rd mutant, Sc (scalloped wing margin—linkage group III) was found to have poor penetration and was not mapped. Two mutants recovered previously in another laboratory, stw (stubby wings—linkage group II) and Iv (irregular veins—linkage group III), were determined to have map points of 48.6 and 70.4, respectively. Six additional mutants were recovered and assigned to linkage groups and 3 translocation stocks with associated visible mutants were isolated.
