Abstract

Alternative representations based on order statistics are derived for the probability of error for orthogonal, biorthogonal, and transorthogonal signaling. Short programs in $$\sf R$$ are developed for the computation of these representations and to furnish evidence to show that their performance is superior to the traditional Monte Carlo approach.
