Abstract

Nine species ofHatschekiaPoche, 1902 are (re-)described based on specimens recovered from the branchial lamellae of Japanese actinopterygian fishes belonging to Perciformes. They areHatschekia aulacocephalissp. nov.,H. bicaudataKabata, 1991,H. cirrhitichthysicolasp. nov.,H. crenulataKabata, 1991,H. curvataYamaguti & Yamasu, 1959,H. etelisicolaLee, Lee & Boxshall, 2013,H. nemipterisp. nov.,H. pagrosomiYamaguti, 1939, andH. paracaesioisp. nov., of whichH. curvatais resurrected from the synonymy ofH. quadrabdominalisYu, 1933. Additionally,H. jonesisp. nov. is herein established for Jones’ (1985) redescription ofH. quadrabdominalis.
