Abstract

AbstractThe paper presents a brief review of the investigations at 3·2 cm. wavelength carried out during the period 1956–58 and also a summary of the work under progress on the following: (i) A theoretical study of the propagation of microwaves along a single conductor embedded in three coaxial dielectrics.(ii) Theoretical and experimental investigations on surface wave transmission.(iii) Theoretical and experimental study of dielectric rod aerials.(iv) Experimental investigations on artificial dielectrics composed of metallic discs arranged in a three-dimensional array.
