Abstract

Objective – to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of patient’s body immunological resistance and reactive response of neutrophils in patients with diabetic foot syndrome depending on trophic ulcer presence.Materials and methods. The study covered 98 patients, who were divided into two groups of 49 patients each, depending on the presence or absence of trophic ulcer. The absolute and relative number of main populations of immunocompetent cells were determined, reactive response of neutrophils, leukocyte index of intoxication by Kalf-Kalif according to V.K.Ostrovskyi modification and index of patient’s body immunological resistance were calculated.Results. It has been determined that the leukocyte index of intoxication was higher 2.19 times in patients with diabetic foot syndrome at trophic ulcer presence in comparison with the absence and 2.84 times comparatively with the control group, that testifies to the increase of endogenous intoxication level. Herein, a reliable decrease of the patient’s body immunological resistance with the danger of infectious complications development was observed. It has been shown that immunological mechanisms at trophic foot ulcer development in patients with diabetic foot syndrome are realized through 12.06 times increase of neutrophilic granulocytes reactive response against the background of 1.9 times decrease of lymphocytes level.Conclusions. The presence of trophic ulcer in diabetic foot syndrome is accompanied by the higher level of intoxication against the background of 1.42 times decrease of the organism resistance index and nonspecific defence increase by neutrophils activation.
