Abstract

Abstract The location of Pretoria‘s urban black residential areas and that of Bophutha-tswana towns on the outskirts of the city, has led to daily commuting by a large number of blacks to Pretoria. This paper focusses attention on the magnitude of such black commuting, its influence on urban traffic, functional change and the provision of urban public amenities.
