Abstract
On the basis of experimental results for the ribbon-induced transition in plane Poiseuille flow, the present paper discusses (1) the residual turbulence in channel and its roles in the flow randomization process through the secondary instability and the high-frequency instability, and (2) the secondary instability caused by two phase-coupled T-S waves.
