Abstract

The study covers some kinetic regularities observed in hydrogen reduction processes of nanodisperse and micron-size nickel powders in a rigid layer, in a layer subjected to high power travelling magnetic field, and in an eddy layer created by ferromagnetic bodies subjected to such field. The process kinetic parameters were calculated both under the linear heating and in isothermal conditions using the Freeman–Carroll and McKewan models, respectively. The properties of the original, intermediary and final products were examined using such methods as thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, measurements of the specific surface area by low temperature nitrogen adsorption and scanning electron microscopy.
