Abstract
In an attempt to study the bleaching of sediments during deposition a few sand dunes ranging in age from 2 to 11 ka have been TL dated. Both quartz and feldspar grains were used. In calculating the ED both the R - β method and direct subtraction of the residual left after a long bleaching time were attempted. The results show that the R - β method gives somewhat lower ED values. The corresponding ages are in agreement with the assumed ages of the dunes.
