Abstract

After a brief introduction to γγ physics at e+e− storage rings, three sets of reactions will be reviewed; the formation of single pseudoscalar resonances, the production of pseudoscalar pairs and the formation of tensor mesons. It will be shown that for single pseudoscalars, the measured radiative widths Γγγ satisfy flavour SU(3) invariance with amazing accuracy. The reaction γγ → π+π− reveals that hadron propagators are not pointlike, even at small values of momentum transfer, t. A study of the mass dependence of the radiative widths of tensor mesons may tell in the future, which mechanism is responsible for their radiative decays.
