Abstract

This paper provides estimates of the short-run and long-run price and income elasticities of import demand for three developing economics. The econometric evidence confirms that devaluation is an appropriate policy to correct for balance of payments disequilibrium in the Caribbean, and it supports the IMF stabilization approach.
