Abstract
The development of the Soviet economy is characterized by high industrial growth rates. Our country produces roughly one fifth of the world's fuel and power. Between 1917 and 1978 the production of electric power has increased 546 times; oil — 65 times; coal — 23 times; Steel — 49 Times; And Cement — 127 Times. In 1978, 372 Billion Cubic Meters Of Gas Were Extracted, Compared With 3.2 Billion Cubic Meters In 1940. These Figures Describe More Vividly Than Words The Successful Fulfillment Of Five-Year Plans Of Development Of The Soviet National EconomyFor Half A Century.
