Abstract

Following the isobaric spin assignments for the strongly interacting particles and leptons recently introduced by De Santis as an alternative scheme for weak interactions incorporating the usual ΔI = 1 2 rule and CP conservation, various decay modes and high energy neutrino-induced reactions have been analysed. As a consequence we derive Γ( Λ → n π) = Λ( Ξ 0 → Λπ) apart from phase-space considerations. Further, we assign an I′ spin for ω − consistent with the present model and obtain its various decay modes as a test of the model. We also consider the decay modes of intermediate vector bosons which are no longer “schizons” so far as I′ spin is concerned. In analysing neutrino induced reactions we note that the familiar results obtained by the ΔI = 1 2 rule do not follows unless the De Santis model is supplemented by rather arbitrary dynamical assumptions which, however, may be the consequences of a higher symmetry from which the present model can be derived.
