Abstract

There are numerous minor errors in the literature on sound propagation near boundaries of finite impedance. These occur mainly because authors have variously used both possible sign conventions for time dependence, viz. eiωt and e−iωt. This paper lists the relevant mathematical consequences of each sign convention and how authors have divided between them. Errata are noted in several of the cited papers.
