Abstract

Abstract Municipal attorneys and regulatory planners may be facing entirely new types of problems if the growing local interest in solar energy matches the emerging state and federal interest. Some communities already are concerned about protecting solar access, and their numbers will increase. A recent survey of HUD-funded solar demonstration projects undertaken by the Real Estate Research Corporation (Working Papers on Marketing and Market Acceptance, Residential Solar Demonstration Program, Spring 1978) indicates that 34 per cent of the local officials surveyed anticipate some modification of local ordinances to deal with solar energy.
