Abstract

EVELOFF, HERBERT H. Some Cognitive and Affective Aspects of Early Language Development. CHILD DEVELOPMENT, 1971, 42, 1895-1907. Normal and abnormal language development depends to a great degree on the nature of the infant-mother relationship. The author advances his concepts as well as those of others with respect to several of the important affective and cognitive parameters that appear of significance, such as the mother-child symbiosis, transitional phenomena, and novelty.
