Abstract

Four clinical cases are presented in which the carbon dioxide laser was used as anadjunct to control massive post-prostatectomy bleeding, minimize parenchymal damage in a patient with bilateral renal tumors and impaired renal function, and in bivalving the kidney in 2 patients with staghorn calculus in order to shorten operative time and reduce blood loss.
