Abstract

AbstractThe configurational environment of a polymer molecule has been found to influence the mode of formation and stoichiometry of an interpolymer complex between polycarboxylic acid and a nonionic polymer. It could be shown through several experimental techniques, e.g. viscometry, potentiometry and conductometry that a distinct stepwise complex formation takes place between the component polymers. Probable structures of the complexes have been proposed.
