Abstract

A new experimental laboratory installation was developed for the synthesis of multiwalled carbon nanotubes by vapor deposition using ferrocene and toluene as precursors. The process parameters of the nanotube synthesis using cylindrical quartz inserts for carbon nanotube deposition were optimized. Specific features of the synthesis were studied, and macrocylinders with the walls formed by radially oriented carbon nanotubes were prepared. The composition and properties of the material obtained were characterized.
