Abstract
The Central Asian halogenic basin of the Upper Jurassic has been used to carry out quantitative volumetric estimates of different types of sediments, oceanic water, and metamorphosing components required for the formation of sediments. The timing of basin formation and halogenic sedimentation is established. The chemogenic sedimentation was likely to be interrupted by several hiatuses.
