Abstract

Nigeria is a member of the United Nations Organization. This world body has, since 1950, been actively interested in agrarian and land reform matters in her member states, especially in the developing member countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America. It is in the light of Nigeria's membership of the UN that the author has reveiwed and related her attempts at land and agrarian reform. The author points out some land and agrarian reform measures undertaken by Nigeria and regards them as laudable but still half-measures. He finally recommends a total takeover of land by the Government in order to be able to effect a mechanised and productive agriculture.
