Abstract

Induction kinetics of chlorophyll fluorescence, delayed fluorescence (DF), and DF decay curves were analyzed as potential remote sensing indicators of plants vigor. Experiments included studies of natural variability of fluorescence in connection with the seasonal leaf maturation process, as well as the influence of environmental stress factors, such as ozone. It was found that parameters of induction curves (normalized variable fluorescence, time of its half decrease) could be used as indicators of plant health. It is suggested that measurements of the DF decay curves could be used for remote estimation of photosynthetic capacity. >
