Some Applications of the Impact Theory of J. Awerbuch and S.R. Bodner

Abstract

This theory, somewhat simplified in a previous paper [6], is applied to the penetration of monolithic, double layer and multilayer targets of aluminium by projectiles of calibres between 5,6 mm and 20 mm. The numerical results are discussed, and are quite plausible for monolithic and double layered targets, but not for multilayered targets with more than around five layers.
