Abstract

The reaction of Co(ClO4)2·6H2O with 3-ethoxy-2-hydrogxy-benzaldehyde, methyamine and KOH in DMF solution, under solvothermal conditions, leads to the formation of the heterotetrametallic cluster {[Co3K(emimp)4(DCA)2]·ClO4}6·(H2O) (1) (Hemimp = 2-ethoxy-6- methyliminomethyl-phenol, HDCA = Dimethyl-carbamic acid). Compound 1 displays dominant anti-ferromagnetic interactions through μ 1,1,3,3-DCA and μ 2-O bridging mode. HDCA was synthesized by in situ reaction and DMF was oxidized.
