Abstract

We prepared a hollow spherical CuCo2O4 material by solvothermal and calcination methods to use as an electrode material for non-enzymatic glucose electrochemical detection. Under alkaline conditions, the CuCo2O4/GCE electrode showed a high response to glucose; the highest sensitivity was 2929.4 μA mM−1 cm−2 in a detection range from 2 to 1800 μM, with a detection limit of 0.27 μM (S/N = 3). In addition, CuCo2O4/GCE had good selectivity and good stability in the presence of common interfering substances. Electrochemical test data showed CuCo2O4 is a promising and sensitive material for electrochemical detection of glucose.
