Abstract

Abstract A convenient solvo-thermal route has been developed for the preparation of cadmium telluride nanoparticles using a novel single source molecular precursor. The X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the face-centered-cubic structure and average diameter of the nanocrystallite is calculated to be 29.5 nm. SEM image clearly shows the needle-like structure which is further supported by TEM image where agglomerated nanoparticles are clearly seen.
