Abstract

The article presents the results of the study of the problem of poverty in Ukraine. It is established that one of the most acute socio-economic problems is the low standard of living of the population as a result of the processes of unstable economy in the country. It has been found that household’s incomes and expenses are increasing, but living standards don’t become better, wage and prices increases and thus the purchasing power of households may remain unchanged or decline. The analyse of the living standard of the population in Ukraine are explained. The causes of poverty in Ukraine and its impact on macroeconomic processes are determined. The dynamics of changes in the minimum wage and living wage in Ukraine are analyzed. The analysis of income and expenses of households was carried out by statistical method and correlation-regression analysis method. Correlation-regression analysis provided a powerful and flexible tool for exploring the interrelationships between resources and expenses. It is established that the main purpose of using this method is to better understand the current state of economic life of households, accordingly the goal to learn to predict events and influence their consequences - has been achieved. We have developed directions for solving the problem of poverty in Ukraine by reforming almost all spheres of human activity. The implementation of these measures will create conditions for raising the standard of living of the population, reducing unemployment, improving the demographic indicators of the country and economic growth of Ukraine as a whole.
