Abstract

Appropriately taking advantage of solvent properties including but not limited to size, polarity, and aprotic/protic behavior can induce the formation of different supramolecular moieties. With the use of mixed (Rs : Pg) macrocycles, intermolecular interactions dictate the overall order and structure. Single crystal X-ray diffraction was utilized to investigate the subsequent macromolecules' hydrogen bonding networks and the resultant Rs to Pg ratios. The data are consistent with separation of 2 : 2 and 1 : 3 products achieved through solvent mediation.
