Abstract

Cotton and cotton-polyester blend fabrics were treated with dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst from perchloroethylene-water emulsions. Commercially available emulsifiers, crosslinking reagents. softeners, and catalysts were used in emulsions applied by pad-dry-cure and pad-steam-cure techniques. Final fabric properties were comparable to those obtained from all-aqueous formulations.
