Abstract

The changes in the redox reactivity of M(CO) 6 with M( M = Cr, Mo, W), and the redox behaviour of W(CO) 6-x (CH 3CN) x (x = 1, 2, 3) are discussed in terms of the metal-carbon interaction. The influence of the solvent donicity on the reduction of M(CO) 6 is analysed.
