Abstract

The speeds of sound measurements are carried out for investigating the interactions of glycine, l-alanine, and l-valine in $$(0.2, 0.4, 0.6, \hbox { and } 0.8)\hbox { mol}{\cdot }\hbox {kg}^{-1}$$ solutions of triammonium citrate (TAC) at $$T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15, \hbox { and } 318.15)\hbox { K}$$ . The speeds of sound values were used to determine apparent molar isentropic compression ( $$\kappa _{\phi ,s})$$ , partial molar isentropic compression ( $$\kappa _{\phi ,s}^0)$$ , hydration number ( $$n_{H})$$ , standard partial molar isentropic compression of transfer ( $$\Delta \kappa _{\phi ,S}^0)$$ . The pair and triplet interaction coefficients have also been calculated. The results have been discussed in terms of prevailing interactions between amino acids and TAC solutions.
