Abstract

Command and control systems used in highly dynamic battlefield environments must be built to continuously guarantee the completion of diverse missions. This paper presents a novel solution for building autonomous adaptive command and control systems, based on the theories, and methods of growing software systems. First, it establishes an architecture model for autonomous adaptive command and control systems. Next, it proposes a core-mission assurance framework towards deep software definition. The frameworks autonomous, adaptive “dual-loop mechanism includes a situation awareness loop as well as a decision making and executing loop. These are used to implement mission assurance-oriented active awareness, adaptive control, and rebuildable evolution. Finally, experiments are carried out on the built prototype system, simulating typical scenarios such as run-level transition, business continuity under resources damaged.
