Abstract

Solution phenomena, consisting of vertical, oblique, and horizontal pipes infilled with Eocene sand, flints, and fragments of chalk are described. Examination of the Mimms Valley has shown that swallow-holes are even more abundant than was formerly supposed. The reasons for the Exceptionally localised solution of the Chalk in the area are briefly discussed.
