Abstract

A simple proof of Euler’s formula which states that the sum of the reciprocals of all natural numbers squared equals ζ(2)=π2/6\\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \\usepackage{amsmath} \\usepackage{wasysym} \\usepackage{amsfonts} \\usepackage{amssymb} \\usepackage{amsbsy} \\usepackage{mathrsfs} \\usepackage{upgreek} \\setlength{\\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \\begin{document}$$\\zeta (2)=\\pi ^2/6$$\\end{document} is presented based on the distribution theory introduced by Laurent Schwartz. Additional identities are obtained as a byproduct of the derivation.
