Abstract

The methods of quasilinearization and invariant imbedding are combined to form an effective numerical algorithm for solution of the two-point boundary value problem du/ dz = f( u, v, z), − dv/ dz = g( u, v, z), u(0) = a, v( x) = y, 0 ⩽ z ⩽ x. The method is applied to several examples and seems to be fast, accurate, and simple to use. It can be generalized and extended in various ways.
