Abstract

The relative values of the shielding of each base proton of the four GC pairs and of the two AT pairs of the dodecamer d(CGCGAATTCGCG) are calculated for four different geometries of B-DNA helices which have been experimentally observed. The results obtained show that in solution the helix formed by the duplex has a conformation more regular than in the crystal.
