Abstract

In engineering, we face problems as diverse as the choice of the site where we must build a road, a dam, a bridge or an airport. The consequences of wrong decisions are so great that it is useful to have an efficient method to deal with these situations because there is always uncertainty about what can happen. In this article the method is presented through an example about a hurricane protection system in which two actors will be essential: the decision-maker and the analyst. This example has been chosen because it would allow decisions to reduce the damage caused by hurricanes in our country.
