Abstract

AbstractPolybutadiene was solubilized in dilute solutions of styrene/butadiene/styrene block copolymers in selective solvents for polystyrene. The formed mixed micelles gave rise to a permanent turbidity of the solution. The systems were investigated by viscometry and light scattering. Using simplifying assumptions about the shape of the micelles, the micellar weights (up to 1010) and sizes (particle diameter up to 300 nm), as well as the average volume fractions of the polymer in the space occupied by a micelle (≈ 0,8–1,0) were estimated.
