Abstract
The use of 133Xe in tracer washout techniques for measurements of local perfusion coefficients has necessitated determination of 133Xe solubility in various tissues (Isbister et al. 1965, Kitani 1972, Veall and Mallett 1965, and Yeh and Peterson 1963, 1964 and 1965). In studies on Xe elimination from adipose tissue, rats were enclosed in an atmosphere containing 133Xe. The unexpected finding of a considerable 133Xe activity in the fur prompted the present determination of Xe solubility in rat hair.
