Abstract

The quaternary phase diagram CaO-La 2 O 3 -SiO 2 -P 2 O 5 was investigated in order to delimit an existence domain of single-phase oxy-silicophosphates. The studied samples were synthesized by high-temperature solid state reaction (1200 ∼ 1400°C). The uranium solubility in Ca 5 La 5 (SiO 4 ) 3 (PO 4 ) 3 O 2 apatites was also studied. The obtained results exhibit that within the defined domain, it exists a solid solution between pure phosphate apatites Ca x La y (PO 4 ) 6 O t and pure silicate apatites Ca x La y (SiO 4 ) 6 O t . The uranium solubility in the Ca 5 La 5 (SiO 4 ) 3 (PO 4 ) 3 O 2 stoechiometry was found about 4.7 % in cationic ratio.
