Abstract
We analyze field theory (continuum) models used in the description of linear polymers. We derive their solitons and polarons, for both trans- and cis-varieties, by means of inverse-scattering methods. We study the relations among the models and emphasize the possibility that a supersymmetric one might be relevant to describe such polymers.
