Abstract

Two (3+1)-dimensional non-integrable KdV-type equations are investigated. The simplified form of Hirota’s direct method established by Hereman and Nuseir is used for an efficient study. One and two soliton solutions are formally established for each model. The study shows that a slight difference between the two models causes a change in the dispersion relations and in the phase shifts.
