Abstract

We evaluate a measure of soliton content of different light signals input in quadratic nonlinear media. Soliton formation under conditions of second-harmonic generation is addressed and results for all (1+1), (2+1) and (3+1) dimensional geometries are shown. It is exposed that the soliton content is a narrow-band function of the phase-mismatch, with a power-dependent, phase-dependent, profile-dependent, and dimensional-dependent band-shape, band-width, and achievable maximum.
