Abstract

AbstractSolitary excitations in molecular chains are theoretically investigated in the presence of intramolecular vibrations of one and the same type and of two different types. In both the cases the solitary bound formations are obtained to exist as a result of the anharmonicity of the intramolecular vibrations. It is found that solitary formations can exist and propagate along the chain also in the case when in addition the chain molecule motions are taken into account. The parameters of the solitary excitations (length, energy) are calculated.
