Abstract
This paper reviews nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) investigations performed by the NMR group at the Physik-Institut employing hydrostatic pressure up to 0.7 GPa. The experiments concern superionic conductors (RbAg4I5,KAg4I5, Ag3SBr, Li3N) and the high-T c superconductor YBa2Cu3Ox. The discussion includes the following topics: determination of pressure-temperature phase diagrams; detection of new phases; pressure-induced phase transitions; measurement of the activation volume in self-diffusion; effect of pressure on diffusion mechanisms; pressure effects on spin-lattice relaxation and, in particular, at phase transitions; pressure-induced shift of NQR frequencies in the superconductor and the phonon contribution to this shift.
