Abstract

This paper presents a new solidification sludge method to overcome the shortcomings of scour protection in ocean engineering. A series of experiments are carried out to investigate the effects of solidification sludge components on the viscosity and scour resistance velocity. The results reveal that the values of viscosity and scour resistance velocity are exponential functions with cure time. The scour resistance velocity can be estimated by viscosity, and the scour resistance velocity is found to be a power function with viscosity with high correlation coefficient. Adding the dosages of cement, HPMC and sodium silicate, reducing the water content and raising the temperature are effective ways to improve the anti-scouring ability of solidification sludge in ocean engineering. The bigger the pile diameter, the higher the anti-scouring ability.
