Abstract

LiYGeO4 samples were synthesized using the solid-state method, and the XRD analysis showed that the best phase purity was obtained at a sintering temperature of around 1080 °C. Additionally, the inclusion of additional lithium carbonate during synthesis improved both phase purity and photoluminescence in dysprosium-doped samples. The photoluminescence measurements indicated that LiYGeO4:Dy is a yellow phosphor (λmax=576.5 nm). In this study, we also conducted investigations into emission lifetimes and quantum yields, which are discussed in detail. Overall, our findings demonstrate the potential of LiYGeO4:Dy as a promising luminescent material with tunable emission properties.
